You will have a wide choice of newer communities to select your home in. Just to the South of the City of Parker are two developments you may wish to check-out: The Pinery, one of the original planned communities within Parker. This community boasts: an open feeling with very minimal fencing between houses, a modern updated Club house, a Golf Course and Tennis facilities for residents. If you prefer upscale Custom homes with wonderful views you must see “The Timbers” located next to and just south of the Pinery.
Parker History: In 1860, a one-room shack was moved from Pine Grove to Cherry Creek to serve as a stage stop. This gradually grew into a 10 room inn, and a community was established around it over the years. By 1882, the inn had become a major stopping point for railroad travelers under the ownership of James Sample Parker. Parker went on to become the postmaster and the community was named after him. The town of Parker was officilally incorporated in the year 1981.
Living in Parker let you enjoy Douglas County School System which offers both scolastic excellence and a wide choice of activities for students. Opportunities for higher education are provided by the University of Phoenix-Colorado campus, The community College of Aurora and the Emil Griffith Opportunity School
